Spring Blog Carnival- Welcome to the Basketball Toss

Welcome to my blog I mean basketball toss! For the Spring Blog Carnival I am giving away the sports themed book Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally. This book was one of my favorites of 2011 and I just loved it. I hope you will too! My challenge for you is this: If you could have a fantasy sports team made up of author and/or characters who would you have on your team? Name at least 5 and your reasons why in the comments below. I will read through the answers and chose my favorite one based on creativity. Rules: You must live in the USA. You must be 18 or older. It would be nice if you would follow my blog. :)

Please see the linky below and visit all of the booths in the Spring Blog Carnival. We're having so much fun! I hope you are too! Good Luck!

Hmmm, fantasy sports team. Tough one as I'm not a sports fan. But we'll give it a try.
Ok, how about a baseball team. (I don't know how many members a baseball team has, so I'll just do the 5)
1. Have to have the Cullen family from Twilight. They can throw, catch, hit and are fast!
2. Ummm, we can add in Angel from the X-Men comics. He has wings so can catch those high flyballs.
3. Acheron from the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. He has the powers of a god and he's good to look at!
4. Ryan Cawdor from The Deathlands series by James Axler. He's fast, intimidating, kick butt, and another hottie.
5. Professor X from the X-Men comics. He could be the coach. He can read minds, influence people, and he's very intelligent.
LOL, I hope comic books count.

Sports team, playing some sport:

1) Ender from Ender's Game - STRATEGY. We've pretty much won already.
2) Rose from VA - pretty sure she can play anything. She's tough.
3) Jay Kristoff - because I wasn't sure if anyone would use an author. He's tall, so if the game involves reaching high things, we're set. Also, his height might intimidate the other team. He would probably also be good at demeaning taunts.
4) Kitty Pride from X-Men - try to steal the ball from us now!
5) Jacinda from Firelight - She can turn into a dragon and fly. Sounds pretty handy to me.

1. Jace from City of bones because he is just totally dreamy and a kick butt fighter, so I would assume that he is fairly athletic!!!
2. Harry potter he can fly and I think that he would be awesome at any sport since he has magic and could totally cheat :)!!!
3. Ash from the Iron Fey series would be awesome he is very stealthy and fast so he would be good to have on my team.
4. Brendan from Spellbound because guess what we already know he is a stellar basketball player so I'm sure he would be great at other sports as well.
5. Will from the angelfire series because I know that he would protect me from getting hurt and he has been alive for 500 years I think he would be good at all sports!!!!

1. Ash from The Iron Fey series because he can move super quick.

2. Puck from The Iron Fey series because he can change shape/form and make tons of clones of himself.

3. Four from Divergent because he's tough.

4. Will from Firelight because he's a hunter, so he's probably good at sports.

5. Augustus from The Fault In Our Stars because he plays a lot of video games, so he's probably good with strategy.

I'd have a fantasy Archery team! Who would be on it?
Katniss, from The Hunger Games, because she's a crack shot
Saba, from Blood Red Road, because she's got great aim even under pressure
Theon Greyjoy, from Game of Thrones, because he never misses with a bow
Luxa, from Gregor the Overland series, because she's got fantastic endurance and aim
Lyra, from His Dark Materials series, because she's got a plucky spirit and will keep the others focused

(and help keep Theon in line!)

For my sports team i would choose...

1. Tommy Williams (Generation Dead) - Because in the book he is an AMAZING football player so obviously he would be good on my team

2. Jake (The New Girl Who Found A Dead Body) - In the book he is also a football star so he better be good! lol

3. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) - She may be good with a bow, but i bet she is also extremely fast since she also outran most of those players, and plus did you see how fast she could climb a tree?! She's gotta be good on the field.

4. T.J. (Bone Dressing) - SHES A PANTHER NO ONE WILL MESS WITH A PANTHER!!

5. Edward Cullen (Twilight) - The other players would be blinded by his sparkly skin and i would have the advantage to run down the field =D

Thanks for the giveaway!!

I don't do sports, so I'm going for people that would squeal and run away from the ball along with me (nothing against these people).
(1)Kiersten White and (2)Stephanie Perkins. Their tweets are absolutely hilarious and I can totally see them running away from the ball of whatever sport we're playing. (3)Maureen Johnson. Okay, she's kind of a wild card. She may run away from the ball, she may stand there and yell at it, or she might just attack the things head on. But not in a way the allows you to win :P (4)Hank and (5)John Green. Okay, I don't quite think they'd run away screaming, but they don't really seem like the sporty types either. I could see them getting the ball and immediately passing it to someone else.
Ahh, I can see it now, The Fighting Nerds won't win, both they'll show nerdtastic spirit!

1. I'm not sure if Veronica Roth is athletic, but she's tall...I would put her on my basketball team.

2. Cricket from Lola and The Boy Next Door...again he's tall. Growing up and playing basketball, I always wanted to be tall, lol.

3. D.J. Schwenk from the Dairy Queen series. She's a super athletic girl who can do it all including football and basketball! Let's sign her up!

4. Gale from The Hunger Games. He's an athletic person and he's nice to look at...hopefully he's good at basketball :)

5. Jessica from The Running Dream. She can run fast and she has endurance...I bet she'd make a great guard if she can dribble a ball.

This makes up my "all human" starting 5 basketball team! HAHA!

1. Shane Collins (The Morganville Vampires series) because he works out and plays video games!
2. Daemon Black (Lux series) because he's an alien and they are automatically good at sports, right?
3. Rose Hathway (Vampire Academy series) because this gal is kick-butt and doesn't like to lose.
4. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games series) because after fighting for your life, everything is easy.
5. Jackson Pearce because I watch her YouTube videos and she is just full of awesome!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! :))

1. I would have Hermoine Granger, would be wonderful to have a witch on my team!

2. Nicholas Flamel, from The Alchemyst series - he's immortal, must have a lot of knowledge in there!

3. Stephen King, he has a twisted mind, I'm sure he could come up with some wicked game strategies!

4. Percy Jackson, as a demi-god, he heals quickly so we wouldn't have to worry about injuries on the field.

5. Jacob Black, have to throw a werewolf in the mix, would make a killer linebacker!

Thanks for the fun giveaway!
